Beyond the sessions, it’s the perfect opportunity to network with fellow professionals, build lasting relationships, and celebrate the growth of the industry. As the day comes to a close, enjoy our celebratory dinner and afterparty featuring gourmet dining, lively entertainment, and valuable networking opportunities.
Local First
STRive Indonesia exists to make the Indonesian accommodation industry stronger. That is the whole point.
Not to bring an international conference to a nice location. To put the people who run properties in this country in one room with each other, and with the people who can help them grow, and then get out of the way.
Education, first. Most of what circulates in this industry was written for markets that work nothing like this one. Pricing advice built on a European calendar. Owner contracts drafted for a legal system that is not yours. Operations playbooks assuming staff you cannot hire and guests who do not come here. STRive Indonesia is built around what actually works in this market, taught largely by people who have made it work in this market.
Community, second. Indonesian operators are competing for the same villas, the same staff and the same guests, which makes it easy to never talk to each other. Every operator here has solved a problem another operator is still stuck on. Right now there is no reliable way for those two people to meet. One day a year, in one room, there is.
Collaboration, third. The things that lift a whole industry are not things any single operator can do alone. Standards that owners can rely on. A shared voice when regulation changes. Enough coordination that the market matures instead of just growing. Those conversations start with people in a room who trust each other, and they carry on long after the day ends.
Who is teaching. Half the stage is Indonesian and Bali-based, because that is where the relevant expertise already is. Agung Juliarta on scaling a portfolio across the archipelago. Adhiguna on contracting with owners. Caroline Sandryani and Christian Sunjoto on building operations that hold together. Matthieu Chauveau on funding growth. Lisa Sibley on running a business here, in practice, not in theory. Enny Nurhayati on winning and keeping premium villa listings. Fifin Prapmasari on the technology side. Terje Nilsen on regulation and real estate.
These are not local speakers added for balance. They are the reason the international speakers wanted to come.
And the international side matters too, because a stronger local industry is a connected one. Paul Waldschmidt is flying in from the US, Craig Webb from the UK, Deepanshu Nihalani from India, Daniel Rouquette and Cecilia Saputri from Singapore. They are not here to tell Indonesian operators how it is done. They are here because this is one of the most interesting accommodation markets on earth, and they want to learn it. Local operators get global knowledge without buying an airfare. That access normally costs a plane ticket and a week away from the business.
Built on the ground. The venue is Balinese. The catering, the crew, the music and the comedy are Balinese. The event is run locally, priced in rupiah, and paid for through local payment methods, because an event for Indonesian operators that asks for US dollars on an overseas checkout is not really for them.
And it started here. In September 2025 we ran a STRive community mixer in Bali. The room filled, the conversations ran long past the end, and the message coming back was clear: the market wanted something bigger. STRive Indonesia is the answer to that. It grew out of this community rather than arriving on top of it.
Local first. Always was.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
We’ve designed STRIVE Indonesia to be focused, energising, and packed with value.
Nine sessions across one day. Here are five of them.
From Zero to 200 Properties: How We Built the Largest Property Management Business in Australia’s Capital and What We Learned Along the Way
Sarah Clark, Head of Operations, Sales & Business Development, Canstay
Two hundred properties in one city, and 350+ onboardings across Canberra, Perth and regional NSW. Sarah walks through how the business actually got there. The hiring, the systems that broke at 50 properties and had to be rebuilt at 120, and the decisions she would make differently. If you are stuck somewhere between 20 and 80 properties and cannot work out what breaks next, this is the session.
18 Months From Launch to Exit: What Worked, What Didn’t, and What You Can Steal
Frazer King, CEO & Founder, EvryStay
Frazer built Lanestay to over 16,000 reservations a year at a 4.97 rating, then exited inside 24 months. A full breakdown of a fast build and a fast exit, including the parts that did not work, which is the half nobody puts in a case study.
Winning Premium Villa Listings: Building Long-Term Owner Partnerships Instead of Chasing Scale
Enny Nurhayati, COO, 5 Star Bali Villa
The hardest problem in villa management is not guests. It is owners. Fourteen years in this market, and a portfolio built on holding premium listings rather than churning through them. Enny’s argument is that chasing scale is how you lose the good villas, and the fix starts in the first conversation with an owner.
Lessons from 300+ Accommodation Websites: SEO and GEO Strategies That Drive Direct Bookings
Craig Webb, Director, Webb Marketing Services
Thirty years running hotels before moving into marketing, so this is not agency theory. Three hundred sites, and the patterns that separate the ones converting from the ones that just look good. GEO is the newer half and it matters more every month, because guests are asking AI where to stay and most accommodation websites are invisible to it.
How to Run a Successful Business in Bali
Panel: Lisa Sibley, General Manager, Boutique Villas Bali. Co-hosted by Cecilia Saputri, COO, Villa Finder
Not the theory of the Bali market. The mechanics. Licensing, staffing, owner expectations, what compliance looks like week to week, and the mistakes operators keep repeating. This session exists because the people on it are running it right now.
Four more sessions to be announced, covering revenue and pricing, tech and AI, contracting owners, and regulation. Between them the stage includes Agung Juliarta (Puri Asia), Adhiguna (ArkaCara), Matthieu Chauveau (TKT Hospitality), Caroline Sandryani (Premier Hospitality Asia), Deepanshu Nihalani (PriceLabs), Yoav Tourel (Guesty & ASTRA), Paul Waldschmidt (OwnerRez), Daniel Rouquette (Villa Finder), Terje Nilsen (Seven Stones Indonesia & BTIC), Christian Sunjoto (Nakula) and Fifin Prapmasari (SiteMinder).
STRIVE to Thrive is not just an event; it’s a milestone on your journey in the STR industry, a moment of learning, collaboration, and celebration that you’ll cherish forever. So gear up, buckle in, and get ready for an unforgettable ride!
